Christmas Eve was good for me

So in my poker career, i have 1 cash of 1,000 dollars plus until i return to absolute poker. Now i've racked up 4 of them in the last couple weeks, On sunday i decided to wake up early and play the $ 20 rebuy tournament, which turned out to be the best decision of the day. We get to the final table and im chip leader, eventually we get heads up and chop for $1,250 each cause i wasnt gonna risk $ 500 playin heads up when, ive lost the last 3 tournies i was in with huge chipleads heads up. So then at the same time i make the 20 rebuy final table, i make the final table of the 3k $ 30 tournament, im 8/9 enterin the final table and i swear to god not more then 5 hands later im chip leader by alot. We get down to 3 handed i make a couple dumb choices and come in 3rd for $ 360. Then an hour later i make the final table of the $ 5 rebuy again with a huge chiplead, this time i kept it throughout and won another $ 350, pretty small but it was christmas eve , and money is money. What a huge day for me, my confidence, my bankroll. Just thinking about the possiblities of me winning another couple big tournies and hitting 10k is around the corner i hope. My goal for 10k is by the end of Feb. if not sooner.

Santa came early

5 MORE DAYS TIL VEGAS

Well last night i had my family xmas party at my aunts. Presents...family stuff...OBV. the yearly hold em tourney busts out. So 6 of us sit down and $5 buy-in start playin some poker. Well obviously i take it down and get only my uncle to pay up lol so i made a profit of $5 ha ha oh well.

So i get home at like 10:30 or so last night and decide what the hell i dont have anything to do tomorrow so i settle in for a session on AP. Start off with some 2/4NL and get bad beated to hell. One hand was a 2 outer on the river for a $500 pot or so with KK vs. 88 guy calls 2x pot sized bet on the flop and turn only to catch his 8 on the river...sooooooo gay. So at this point i take a break for a little bit and collect myself and decided to play the $7K guaranteed (which is usually the $9K guaranteed with bounties). I get to the FT and it's pretty stacked with a few very good players and im in like 6/9 left. With a few key pots i have the chip lead with 3 left. The other guy takes the 3rd place guy out and we are now down to heads up and about even in chips. Normally id prolly ask for a chop since 1st was $2200 and 2nd was $1400 instead of flipping a coin for $800. But this kid hadnt said a word all tourney so i figured there was no point in asking. Well balls on me but this kid turned out to be a f'ing card rack for the rest of the tourney. He flopped quads on me once when i flopped open ended straight flush draw and i paid him off. Top pair he has me outkicked by 1. It was just not meant to be and i ended up coming in 2nd for $1300 profit. Cant say i didnt play my best because i played very well and made a few HUGE calls late in the tourney...just card dead at key situations.

12.24.06
$7K guaranteed - 76 entrants - $1300 profit

So that brings us to today...woke up at 11am or so opened up some presents ate a hell of a lot of food and hung out with some family. After all that i decided what the hell ill sit down at some 2/4NL for a while before doing some more family stuff. Well wouldnt you know it but santa decided to put stupid people at my table along with me and i walked away with $980 profit after 28 min. So we'll see where the night takes us...hopefully it's some more FT's to come.

Heres my 2 hands that boosted me in 2/4 today...

Bless this kids heart LOL

Rig Capacitor

Well this post is more of a rant than a brag post. I have had by far the worst run of cards in my life. Every tourney i have played in for the past week has just been HORRID. It either starts off with me having hands hold and getting a big stack...then running cold for an hour...then having my dominating hand jammed up my ass to take me out. Or the other way it goes is that i just dont have any playable hands for 2 hours and i get blinded down to where i have to push some worthless piece of shit hand like AK and run it into aces. For instance i played 7 tournies today throughout the day. I cashed in ONE SINGLE TOURNEY and even in that tourney i should of had a 4:1 chip lead but got screwed 3 straight hands to go into the final table short stacked. I need to win something soon or my confidence is just gonna go through the floor and right before vegas that isnt a good thing. It just kills me to see people on AP every single tourney they are a card rack and every one of their hands hold and god forbid if they are behind...they come out ahead 80% of the time. I just dont know what the fuck else i can possibly do.

12-20-06
$20 NL - 71 entrants - $238.44 profit.

And yes this is pretty much the only tourney ive FT'ed this week how gross is this?

Strong $ 10 rebuy finishes pump up the BR near 5k

So i had a dominating chiplead in the 10r 2 nights ago going into the final table, but once we got 3 handed i found it very difficult to put the other 2 away and ended up finishing 3rd, they were 2 unknowns to me but played very well 3rd was only worth $250 but ill take it since i bubbled this tournament 9 nights in a row consecutively, and it's my 1st cash in it since winning it so i was more than pleased. Then last night with my new found confidence and a much bigger field that the night before, i played well and went in to the final table 9th/9th in chips, and almost didnt even make the FT at all, but i got there and immediately decided it was time to gambol and play more aggressive with my short stack and it paid off, i quickly dubble up with ak and was up to 60k or so and moved up to 4th in chips, i then proceeded to pick up AQ 3 out of 4 hands in a row and pick up some pots. I also seemed to find hands in the blinds when others were trying to steal them which helped alot. So eventually i get down to HU with the guy who went into the FT with a 200k chip lead on the field, by the time we got heads up we were dead even in chips. He battled it out HU for 20 mins but he was victorious and i came in 2nd for $580 . Which was a confindence boost to me for sure to FT 2 nights in a row and not having done so since i won like i said. Anyways i'm gonna put a run on MSU's 11th place TLB finish a few weeks ago this week, i have a shot to at least out do his points for that week. I'll update that here at the end of the week.

2/4

Well 2/4 NL treated me pretty well tonight. I got home today at 11:30 just in time to miss the $9K guaranteed on AP only to figure id play the $5K and a little bit of 2/4NL shorthanded play for a while. Well i got a few hands early in 2/4 and ran my $300 buy in up to $560 or so and then my golden hand happened.

So ended up +$1043 in 42 min. playing 2/4 id say it was a good day. So i quit and decided to turn my attention onto the $5K guaranteed.

I played tightly pretty much having a bunch of small pocket pairs but didnt flop a set out of like 10 pairs lower than 8's. So i got pretty short stacked raising a few hands and laying them down after missing the flop and having big bets in front of me. So im down to 580 chips or so and then this crap happens.

So at this point in time i just kind of expected it and took the $25 buy in loss with a laugh cause it cant get any worse than that. Oh well shit happens.

Oh yeah 13 more days til Team Donkament runs over Vegas...and the addition of Schnabel to the guest list is a plus also...the more the merrier.

Well im off to bed and Pimp is out tearin up the Sahara tourney...but really he's just going to hit on Dutchess from AP as we all know she is the queen of all things that are holy. Good luck to him...and in the tourney too LOL :)

Back at it again with a big win

So i took 2 weeks off basically cause of finals and the school work load that was bearing down on me, it's alot easier to play without all the homework that i saved for the end of the semester. With that said , I've told myself im going to play as much as possible for the next month till school starts back up in mid january. So back to the grind, the first couple days i consistently ran my KK into AA or QQ into KK etc. Then last night i had a break through, i didnt even get very many hands honestly. I was somewhere in the middle of the pack when we hit the money with 27 left in the 5k on ap. When i get dealt aces in the BB mid, mid position who was pretty short raises to 2500 with blinds at 250-500, then it folds around to the button who insta shoves and has 20k, im sittin on about 13-14k i think, and call and mid position goes all in as well. Button has JJ, mid position has aq and my aces hold and i rake in about a 35k pot and skyrocket up to 2nd or 3rd. We then get down to 18 and i had worked my way up close to 50k, very 1st hand when were down to 2 tables i get dealt 9's with a raiser in front i flat call, flop 10 9 5 he was first to act and instantly shoves, i can't fold my set here he's got an over pair, K's and then promptly spikes his K on the turn when we get it all in on the flop. So im down to 25k and work my way back up to 45k pretty quickly. We then get down to Hand for Hand for the final table and myself and the vilan get into it again on a 7 high flop, i have ak and feel like he's got aj i bet out he insta shoves, i dunno why i call but i do and he turns up 9's, i go runner runner flush on him and go into the final table with 100k next closest person had 50k. Gradually we get down to heads up and were essentially even in chips, and i just outplay him for the win, which boosted my confidence cause i dont have a great heads up game. 5k win = $ 1,375

Well ive been really busy at work lately with the holidays coming up and starting my 2nd job also so i apologize for not posting for a while. Hopefully after the new year ill be posting a lot more considering ill have a lot more time on my hands.

So before i start off with my tourney updates and cashes since my last post I'd like to let everyone know how fuckin excited i am that i will be in the best place in the world in 19 days. Yes LAS VEGAS. So if anyone is gonna be in vegas Dec. 30th-Jan 4th give me a shout out and we'll run some shit. Obviously me, pimp, nba and gametymer will definitely be there tearing shit up. Anyways enough of my excitement and on with the good stuff.

Oh and i was 11th on the tourney leader board on absolute poker for this week also.

And the sickest read of the week for me goes to this particular hand below. Not like it really matters cause 1 hour after this i lost everything i had in front of me cause of AP setup hands. The donkey at my table...ROSEFIRE...who pushes EVERY hand he's in no matter what he has wakes up with AA vs. my KK. If it was anyone else i prolly get away from it. But i still came away with profit from the session so im not tooooo worried about it just pissed that donkey boy walked away with my money without knowing how to play.

A Good Day

So it started with a 33 sng where i just felt like i was going to have a good day, i never even caught a good hand i just completely outplayed the person in the hand with me everytime. So i bought into the 5k with a good feeling. Welp sure enough i used my reads to continue a good run that lead me to the Final Table. 1st place was near 2k so i was looking forward to hopefully getting a chance. I went into the Final Table 1st in chips i was playing so well, The we got down to 5 handed when the hand goes KK vs QQ vs 10 10 and KK wins and has an enormous chip lead and were 3 handed, eventually the other guy gets taken out and he's got a 4:1 chip lead on me heads up. Try as i might i can't get him to double me up. So i get taken out 2nd for 1,219 dollars. Not bad for 4 hours of playing. Simultaneously i made the FT of the 5r and came in 4th place. It's funny how one little sit and go set me off into winning 1500 dollars today.
